IPO Coimbra has been equipped with a Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratory, thus reconfiguring the laboratory response for adequate and rapid COVID-19 diagnosis.

The design, lab planning, and construction of the laboratory were carried out considering the specificity and technical-scientific rigor inherent to the construction and operation of a BSL-2 laboratory, reflecting compliance with applicable standards, legislation, and regulations.
